A multi-functional hobby robot
We already revealed some characteristics of the new DiyouPCB MKII printer but now that we have a better idea about how it will be we are going to share some information with the community. That’s the reason we are redesigning the web site.
DiyouPCB MKII will be a versatile multi-functional robot that will help us to build PCBs: mainly to photo engrave dry-film circuits with the PHR-8003T laser but also to drill vias and holes with any rotary tool.
But during the development process we saw that really it’s much more than a PCB robot.
It’s a multi-functional hobby robot which can help us to make a lot of things.
For example we tested very easily how to print 3D objects using FDM method, so it’s also an entry point 3D printer. It can also mill soft materials like wax to make casting molds, or it can dispose solder paste, or any other kind of paste like chocolate or silicone. It can plot with a marker pen. And... if in a near future it will be viable to 3D print circuits (for example with conductive ink or graphene).
We will be able to do it because the robot is extendable. It means we can add more functionality very easily just installing the adequate toolhead on it.
So it can make a diverse set of things: mainly electronics, but also additive and subtracting manufacturing, using an extendable set of tools.
That is basically DiyouPCB MKII.
