We'd like to thank....
Hi,
We'd like to thank you for all the support messages received as well as tips & ideas to solve the issues encountered on the DiyouPCB development and also for the requirements you sent us in order to include new features.
As some of you already knew, our plan for the future were to design an UV resin 3D printer, also based in the PHR803-T laser pickup and the electronics we developed. But due to the success of DiyouPCB we are going to change our plans and will focus on a new version of it.
We will call it MK-II and it will be radically different from the MK-I which is the actual prototype.
We have writen a new list of designing criteria for the new printer:
- It should be able to draw with the PHR-803T laser pickup with better accuracy (approx. 0.1 mm) and without vibrations issues.
- It has to be faster than the MK-I but as the laser needs a certain speed to sensitize the film, the idea is to use positive photoresist in order to reduce printing time by reducing the printing surface.
- Additionally it has to be able to drill PCB's and cut/mill soft materials: wood, polystyrene, plastic, wax, etc.
- It should also allow to print small 3D objects: in fact it has to be a 3D printer. The idea here is to build boxes to house the electronics, knobs for potentiometers, frontal covers or any piece of plastic that we could need.
- We are going to reduce the printing area. It was too large in DiyouPCB MK-I. We prefer to be smaller, more accurate and faster.
- Given the new characteristics probably we will have to upgrade to the Arduino Mega. We will probably replace HPGL for G-code. The Mega will have more power and memory to support G-code and drilling/3D printing need g-code.
- We will also develop a new firmware based on Marlin that serves for all new purposes.
The idea is to design a versatile robot that serves for all possible needs than an electronics/mechatronics aficionado could have.
We are very excited working in the new blue-prints and refining some design ideas and of course, we will keep you informed.
Thanks!!!
The DiyouWare team.
